also useful for moving up is to just spray the area where you think there might be someone as you move up, because even if bullets arnt near you, the sound of a gun will keep your head down.

Assualt Specialists Empty umm

Post  SnipeJAG94 Wed Jul 01, 2009 4:49 pm

i have to dissagree with that...
every time i hear a gun shoot i look to see where it is coming from, then get back in cover...
you said just spray the area, not someone inperticular. plus that is a great way of giving away your cover.

remember if you can shoot them... they can shoot you

and if your running, and there stationary, they have a lot better chance of hitting you.

like sean said... think before you move, this includes knowing where the enemy is/most likely to be. so when you move you can keep your weapon shouldered in the direction you think/know they are.

i little thing i like to do. if you are moving, SPRINT as fast as you can. it makes you harder to hit and you are exposed for less time. and practice realoading swiftly (think "sleight of hand") believe me, it helps

ummm...i have to dissagree with that....
if you are behind a tree, and you hear a burst of bullets hitting that tree, you are not about to leave that tree untill those bulllets stop. and when you said when you hear bullets, you look to see where they are coming from, but this isnt sniping, this is assualting, and you most likeley know where they are already. that is a good idea, however, for the designated marksmen page

Assualt Specialists Empty what are you talking about???

Post  SnipeJAG94 Wed Jul 01, 2009 10:15 pm

dude i know this is not the DM page. ok i knew that since the start... are you telling me you are out in the open all the time...
dude i'm talking about when say your reloading, staying low, and just being smart.. anyway i think you got the wrong idea from henry. henry wouldn' do what you just said... you would have to be retarded to run out when your pinned down by suppresive fire. henry's talking about getting to areas. i charged with him one time and it was nothing like you said.
so what your saying is when you hear gun shots you don't go and check it out? dude you need to think before you post, ok
LOOKING FOR THE ENEMY is not just a sniper tactic dude, get that out of your head.you don't always know were everyone is, because they can think.

..... yeah, i wouldn't do anything just plain dumb because thats just plain dumb. the idea of my tactic is to make yourself vulnerable for less time. i'd rather sprint to cover during a firefight than walk up to it with my gun pointed towards the enemy. if i was doing the latter then i would be shot at, in the open, and most likely killed. if i'm sprinting and a guys pops out i can 1. already be at my cover 2. it will take longer for the enemy to adjust their aim which buys me time to get there and 3. if you have the enemy suppressed and you move up fast enough, he may not know your there. it works (from experiance)

but i can see how you can misunderstand my idea.

*edit*
i've also come to realise that this could be interpereted as an "all the time" thing, its not. its only for use in certain situations like rushing. i do also know the value of sneaking but that is hard to do during an assualt (hence the topic)

USMC Rules for Gunfighting

1. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns.

2. The double tap rule: Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap. Your life is expensive.

3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.

4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough nor using cover correctly.

5. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)

6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun and a friend with a long gun.

7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.

8. If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading, and running.

9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun.

9.5 Use a gun that works EVERY TIME.

10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but he should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

11. Always cheat; always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose.

12. Have a plan.

13. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work.

14. Use cover or concealment as much as possible.

15. Flank your adversary when possible. Protect yours.

16. Don't drop your guard.

17. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees.

18. Watch their hands. Hands kill. ("In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them.")

19. Decide to be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.

20. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

21. Be polite. Be professional. But, have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

22. Be courteous to everyone, friendly to no one.

23. Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and deescalation.

24. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun, the caliber of which does not start with a ".4"

Navy Rules to Gunfighting

1. Go to Sea
2. Deploy Naval Air
3. Send in the Marines
4. Drink Coffee

i'm not too sure if number 11 agrees with numbers 21 and 22 tongue
-how can you cheat and still be polite ?

maybe its just me being english Question

most of these sound solid but a few are.... odd.... "bring atleast two guns"? have fun with 2 heavy guns and their ammo. Wink
...unless its a pistol, but then it would have to be a big pistol with heavy ammo due to rule 24.
oh dear, i need sleep.....

Post  SnipeJAG94 Thu Jul 02, 2009 2:28 am

besides sprinting... i have noticed that a lot of people don't have the gun shouldered while advancing on a position. this could take some time if you need to take aim, and in that time you could get shot... so just work on that if ya wan't.
for henry... i have tried many methods of running with the gun and trying to fire in a full blown sprint, do you try to shoot anyone while you do this??? well i can probably guess no, but only if you need to right?

i think those rules are both funny and true. they are more applicable to real wars and self-defense, but still funny. and jakes right, shouldering your rifle while moving can be effective, but tring to sprint with you iron sights up? less effective.

yeah, i dont sholder my gun during a sprint because it is a full blown, flat out sprint. i often start right as the enemy ducks behind cover so i dont get shot. and if i need it, i dont go all-out in my sprinting
