Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
Garret and I were talking about the topic that everyone has considered but no one has actually decided to do. We felt that while the Bothell field is fun, it does have its flaws; namely, the large open spaces throughout the area. The solution in the past has been to pile up logs or vegetation, which is fine until the stoners get to them and do whatever vile things stoners can do with logs So the next option is bunkers. Plywood, wooden pallets, that sort of stuff. We think that we could make portable, movable, storable cover that can be brought out and set up before games and easily be stashed away afterwards. Now, no one is going to want to take all this home, so we think that we could just stash them in some part of the field taht hardly anyone goes to.
So, we're going to get started on barricades and stuff tomorrow, and we urge you to do the same.

Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
hmm... perhaps for a very portable solution we could use stakes planted in the ground and attact something to the equivalent of the blue-tarp camping stuff to the stakes. that way you would get light, modular, and portable cover...... WIN
something like this....
[]===[]===[]
[]===[]===[]
the "[]" are the stakes and the "=" are the tarp.

ya, looks good. that blue tarp that is like plastic is very portable, you only need a roll or two.
the thing i like about this is that someone could fit it in thier car or garage, while large wooden pallets/ plywood could not fit in a car, and are more

Or, as I've been saying for weeks... We could play at ESPB in Monroe which already has a ton of crap set up and is an amazing field...

I have already made 5 double wall peices of cover which are big enough for one to two people at a time they are kind of L shaped. Also Henry I dont think that a single layer of tarp will work because my gun and probably everyone elses shoots through tarp.

Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
well, i was only thinking of something tarp-like, and i'm not sure if we could shoot through tarp (or at least the tarp i'm thinking of)
Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
well, i have some tarp that covers up the windows in our vacation home, and i tried to poke a hole with a KNIFE, and it just couldnt get through. mabey the tarp your thinking of isnt great, but there's some tough plastic-coated tarps that are just indestructable. also, if the made the tarp really tight, it may go through, but if it had alot of slack the movement of the tarp would absorb most of the impact of bb. but there is no reason why we couldnt have both!

Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
So tomorrow Garret and I are heading up to the field to clean up a bit. We're also bringing the barricades with to find a suitable place to stash them. If you guys could come and help that would be great.

Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
i dont think we're playing, we'd only have 4 people.
Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
Yeah, it's just a clean up day really. So bring gloves, trash bags, and/or water.

WOAH i seen that same video before, and my dad and me wanted to make one at our vacation house. i dont think we can dig at thrashers, but i think we may be able to dig at jake's field if he got permission, and we do it in a thicker-treed area
Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
hey guys, i just remembered that i made previous plans with other friends and can not make it today. sorry guys
Re: Bunkers, barricades, and general fancy portable cover
Hey all of the barricades I setup and built were destroyed by the smokers and I think that its not a good idea to bring anymore because they will probably just be destroyed
